The design of Ele armchair by Jaume Ramirez Studio results from a creative process that unfolded without a clear destination. Instead, it emerged naturally from its surroundings—a workspace filled with only wooden planks and an assortment of leftover fabric.

Over a month spent in solitude, the designer embarked on a journey of experimentation, marked by moments of trial and error that shaped its evolution. What began as scattered fragments of ideas and material tests gradually formed a trail, much like breadcrumbs in a forest, leading toward the creation of a singular object. Yet, by the end of that initial month, the piece defied traditional notions of functionality—it could not even serve its intended purpose as a chair. Its true nature remained a mystery, even to the designer. For the next five years, the object existed in a dynamic state of flux, continuously evolving through cycles of completion and incompletion. Along the way, a collection of prototypes and photographs quietly documented this process, serving as both a reflection of the journey and an archive of its transformation.

Jaume Ramirez is a visionary designer and artist whose work is defined by an intuitive and experimental approach. Exploring the intersection of materiality, form, and abstraction, Ramirez transforms simple, everyday materials into profound artistic statements. The Ele armchair exemplifies his ability to push the boundaries of design, creating objects that challenge conventional expectations while inviting viewers into a deeper dialogue about function and creativity.
