Simone Bodmer-Turner is an artist ceramicist based in New York whose work is capturing the attention of both art and design enthusiasts.

She found her passion for ceramics through evening classes and after honing her craft through travels to Japan and Oaxaca, she established her studio in Brooklyn in 2018.

Simone's work is characterized by exaggerated jugs and vases that have evolved into fluid and amorphous forms that challenge the limitations of the medium. Her pieces range from multi-chambered blobs to crawling branches and twisting, cave-like configurations, all rendered in her signature chalky white tone.

Her latest project, the renovation of her Brooklyn studio, showcases Simone's work on a grand scale. The installation features a bench, desk, and shelving in textured white gypsum, paying tribute to the Mediterranean-influenced organic architects that have shaped her ceramics practice. The bright loft windows of the former factory serve as the ideal backdrop for Simone's breathtaking work, highlighting the interplay between form and material that makes her creations so captivating.

Simone Bodmer-Turner's work appeals to both art and design lovers, as she crafts a world in white that is both hauntingly beautiful and intellectually stimulating.
