Reflector, a modular light installation by Copenhagen-based duo Frederik Gustav, merges precision and fluidity through bent steel wires and aluminum screens, forming a flexible structure with meticulously connected joints.
For Frederik Gustav, the project is an extension of their ongoing exploration of construction, materiality, and form. Known for their work at the intersection of design, architecture, and art, the duo—Frederik Weber and Gustav Dupont—approach each project with a deep curiosity about structural expression. In Reflector, this curiosity translates into a system that is both functional and poetic, a piece that illuminates not only space but the very act of making itself.
The design plays with perception. Its aluminum sheets, reminiscent of speaker membranes, capture and diffuse light, creating a visual rhythm that echoes both industrial structures and sculptural compositions. Light is not just emitted but reflected, absorbed, and redirected—interacting with space in a way that feels both technical and intuitive.
