Michalis Poulas was born in Athens, Greece. He was lucky to have a father who introduced him to photography medium, when opening a one hour process film shop, back in 1988 in Crete Island.
This interest was continued by studying photography at Leica Academy in Athens. He currently lives in Greece town Sitia Crete, where he runs his own photo lab. Besides having his own business, Michalis enjoys working on personal projects, thus we would like to present you his series titled Infinite Perimeter.
The leading symbol in this sequence of images is the sea, that plays a dominant role in Michalis’s life. It can be interpreted in various ways, for Michalis, sea defines the limits of how much man can change the landscape. As he says himself, “Infinite Perimeter is about the place where one draws breath and calls one’s home. The place one recalls and reminisces, be it in a positive or negative light, years down the line, even if one never left it, either physically or mentally.”
