Martin Holík is a Czech photographer, who currently lives and works in Olomouc, Czech Republic. He polishes his photography skills at the Institute Of Creative Photography Of Sileasian University In Opava.
Presented here is a project named Armenia. Martin decided to visit this country, in order to discover its real beauty. As he says himself, “Unspoiled by the crowds.”
Fascinated by Armenia’s mysterious history, he set off through the country, documenting the lives of people in Gyumri, old Luna Park above Yerevan — Armenia’s capital city — and in the end, he visited Khor Virap — monastery lying on the border with Turkey. This part offers magnificent view of Ararat — the mountain, which have become a symbol of the country. By merging the pictures of landscape, along with authentic portraits, Martin created a body of work, that encourage the viewer to contemplate and look beyond what’s visible.
