French architect Nicolas Dahan has completed a 250 sqm weekend house in Soulac Sur Mer, Southwestern France, blending it with its pine forest surroundings by using wood throughout the construction.
Its solids and voids enable the forest to penetrate and the surf to be heard. Huge volumes are linked together beneath the roof with a rare finesse. This timber loft, at the heart of the forest, is alternately a conservatory and spacious home for a family of three children.
