Francesc Rifé Studio has carefully crafted the design of the Swiss Concept clinic in Valencia, thoughtfully drawing inspiration from the serene aesthetics of Asian meditation rooms.
The interior of the clinic utilizes a harmonious palette of ash wood, translucent glass, and brass accents, cultivating an atmosphere of tranquility that echoes the spirit of Eastern meditation spaces.
At the heart of the design ethos, the Barcelona-based studio sought to embody simplicity and calm, a philosophy that is palpably felt throughout the clinic. "This clinic was conceived with the notions of lightness and calm at its core, achieved by the simplest of means," explains Rifé.
Upon entering, clients are welcomed by a softly illuminated reception area, featuring an ash-panelled desk set against a sage green backdrop. This soothing entrance leads to a white corridor lined with backlit frosted glass panels, which cleverly conceal the treatment areas while softening the silhouettes of occupants, enhancing the clinic's private yet open ambiance.
The clinic's layout is ingeniously designed to promote a seamless flow, incorporating dual-door treatment rooms that facilitate a circular movement pattern. This thoughtful design extends to the waiting area positioned in the rear corridor, where deep window sills adorned with translucent screens double as seating, offering a contemplative view into the treatment spaces.
Furthering the minimalist theme, the perimeter rooms—such as the laboratory, sterilisation room, and consultation areas—are distinctly marked by their all-white décor, contrasting subtly with the wooden and brass elements prevalent in the public spaces.
Detail-oriented craftsmanship is evident in the bespoke brass strips that outline bookshelves and form delicate door handles, as well as in the minimalist lanterns that cast a warm, inviting glow throughout the clinic.
