The first thing that catches the eye when approaching Raem House is the striking yellow color of the concrete. The architects intentionally chose this bold hue to stand out against the natural surroundings and evoke a sense of warmth and vitality. The rough texture of the concrete only adds to its appeal, as it was cast in formwork made from wooden boards, giving it an organic feel that blends seamlessly with the rocky terrain.
Upon entering the home through the courtyard, visitors are greeted by an abundance of natural light and expansive views of the surrounding landscape. The living spaces are fronted by sliding glass doors that create intriguing reflections, depending on their position. The center of the courtyard aligns with the natural center of the grid, creating a harmonious balance between the building and its environment. What truly sets Raem House apart is its innovative use of geometry. The partial circles that form the grid are both angular and curved, creating a unique interplay of shapes that catches the eye and engages the senses. This is further emphasized by the skylights and structural columns that are integral to the design.
