Omotesando Koffee London designed by Laboratorio di Idee + Perinelli Design, melds traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary minimalism, creating an intimate coffee experience in the heart of London’s West End.

Located in the heart of London’s West End, the interior of this café radiates a sense of calm and precision, mirroring the essence of its original Tokyo counterpart. The space is dominated by a centrally positioned "coffee cube," where baristas in white lab coats serve customers one at a time, encapsulating the intimate coffee experience that has become a hallmark of the brand.

The design of the London outlet reflects a deep reverence for Japanese design principles, such as symmetry, proportion, and material honesty. Intricately crafted timber screens and panels frame the coffee cube, creating a layered, textured composition that extends the visual reach of the interior to the street outside. This thoughtful interplay between interior and exterior is enhanced by the use of traditional materials, such as charred cedar boards and granite stepping stones, which evoke the entry courtyard of a traditional Japanese house. Inside, the warm tones of natural ash wood and ash wood veneer foster a serene, inviting environment, offering a unique and intimate coffee experience.

The exterior of the café continues the theme of minimalist elegance. A black powder-coated steel frame and large glass panels maintain a clean, sophisticated look, while the simple white square signage on a black background subtly nods to the brand's origins in Omotesando. The meticulous attention to detail, from the material choices to the spatial layout, underscores the dedication to artisanship and hospitality that Omotesando Koffee embodies.
