Occupying the liminal realm between physical and digital, Wang & Söderström seek to combine technological advancements with sensual qualities to activate a digital sensuousness.
The Low Tide Collection represents the kind of things that appear when the ocean is pulled away during a low tide. Lifeforms that are shaped to survive in underwater conditions but also sometimes inhabit this otherworldly and temporary landscape that is a low tide.
As objects, the collection has a similar relation to ‘the surface’. Whereas the sea lifeforms crosses the surface between ocean and land these objects transverse from the digital to the physical. In a way the vessels are physical remains from a digital ocean.
All pieces are digitally sculpted, 3D printed moulded in water based acrylic resin/mineral composite + pigment and 4 editions in rubber.
