The Lift Sofa for MOR subtly showcases its final gentle and natural look without immediately revealing its industrial inspirations at first glance.
Julien Renault modestly admits that he drew inspiration from the industrial landscape, and the simple name "Lift" says it all. "Inspired by the metal frame structure of elevators, the LIFT sofa takes both its name and aesthetic cues from this influence" as he explains.
The sofa consists of two main components: upholstered cushions and a strong frame made of solid wood. The whole is surprisingly lightweight. Its charming silhouette does not dominate the space but rather complements it. The sleek frame is thoughtfully designed so that the wooden connections subtly hide the technical elements. "A sofa is a piece of furniture that often elevates you from the floor. The frame works like a cage and a platform that welcomes the cushions."
Julien Renault has an incredible eye for detailed solutions, "Even if the frame looks unpretentious, there has been a lot of work on details between the cushion's sewing line and the frame construction, with all the bolts and screws hidden inside the structure."
Available options include a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa, and a one-seater chair, each in ash, oak, and walnut woods. Choose from Natural, Almond, Brown, Coffee, Olive, and Black leathers, and a variety of fabric options.
