House in Gamo designed by Suppose Design Studio is a minimalist architectural gem that beautifully juxtaposes urban living with serene tranquility in Koshigaya City, Japan.

Perfectly stationed within the intimate embrace of Koshigaya City, this thoughtfully orchestrated domicile offers an antithesis to its bustling urban context. Nestling between a picturesque row of houses flanking a tranquil river and a scene of cherry blossoms in gentle bloom, this house stands as a beacon of minimalistic mastery, draped in an enigmatic dark facade that conceals an expansive, triple-tiered canvas of spatial freedom.

At the heart of Gamo's design narrative lies a poetic celebration of the outside world, an inspired attempt to dissolve the boundaries between interior and exterior domains. Amid the urban sprawl, the architects offer a tranquil refuge that honors the visual feast of changing seasons and the riverine serenity. In a delightful display of design purism, a deliberate and selective illumination strategy ensures natural light permeates only where it matters, masterfully enhancing the dialogue with the outside world.

As one ventures through this ascetic sanctuary, a procession of curated experiences unfurls. The ground floor houses a bedroom, its austere simplicity complemented by sliding doors that artfully control the ingress of light. Up the solid wood stairway, a hammock awaits in the contemplative embrace of the second floor, inviting quiet introspection against the backdrop of the engaging river vista. Further upwards, the upper level metamorphoses into a pavilion-like sanctuary, where the lounge and dining area seamlessly flow into a kitchen space that stirs the senses. Encapsulating the sensation of dwelling on the river bank, it marks a peaceful conclusion to a symphony of minimalist architectural design.
