The colors of the newly opened Faina Gallery, a showroom designed by Yakusha Studio, were inspired by earthy natural tones of soil, moss, and clay.

A 500-year-old building houses the gallery. To avoid disturbing its historic framework, the studio did not make major structural alterations.

There are two monochromatic spaces, one imbued with dark green tones reflecting Mother Nature and the other in charcoal hues reminiscent of the soil of Ukraine. Original hand-painted walls, concrete floors, and wooden ceilings provide an earthy backdrop for the archetypal forms and natural materials of the collection, which includes bespoke, never-before-seen carefully crafted pieces.

Victoria Yakusha is a Ukrainian born architect, designer, founder of YAKUSHA studio and collection of live design FAINA. Deeply inspired by local culture and traditions. Founded in 2014, after the Revolution of Dignity, FAINA represents Ukrainian identity, culture and spirit. Evoking ancient symbols, reviving ancestral crafts, working with live, primeal materials. FAINA's live minimalist design explores a sense of belonging to earth and guides back to the essence. The omen-like archetypal shapes of design pieces harbour an animistic presence. In the hands of local artisans, each object finds a living soul.
