Atelier NEA was invited by Casey Casey to craft a space that would fully capture the essence of the brand, and the result is a stunning example of how identity can be woven into a physical environment.
Today’s conscious brands know that success goes beyond selling products; it’s about creating an entire universe. The showroom isn’t just a shop anymore—it’s an ecosystem. It functions as a showroom, office, venue for fashion events, and a space for daily operations, including regular photoshoots, seamlessly embodying the brand’s evolving narrative.
In the heart of Pigalle, one of Paris’s most vibrant districts, Casey Casey has unveiled its first multi-purpose environment—a beautifully understated space that occupies 130 square meters in a historic building dating back to 1882. The transformation involved three significant interventions, all executed with a refined, almost invisible hand. The first was the preservation and modernization of the large steel windows, which were fitted with energy-efficient glass. This was a critical step, ensuring the space met modern sustainability standards while maintaining its historical character. New windows were also installed to further enhance the energy efficiency of the space.
The second major change was the complete rebuilding of the mezzanine. Now serving as an office and creative studio for the brand’s founder and Artistic Director, Gareth Casey, the mezzanine provides a private, elevated space while still being connected to the bustling energy below. It’s a quiet, contemplative area that reflects the brand’s commitment to both form and function.
Perhaps the most striking change was the relocation of the staircase. Originally situated at the back of the space, it was moved to the front, creating a more open and inviting atmosphere. This new staircase, positioned in the double-height area, connects the interior with the outside world, offering a sense of flow and continuity. Alongside it, a continuous wall that houses storage and a kitchen keeps the space functional yet unobtrusive, reinforcing the idea that practicality and beauty can coexist seamlessly.
Materiality plays a central role in the showroom’s design, with a palette that is both simple and luxurious. A continuous oak kitchen-stair-storage unit anchors the space, its natural warmth complemented by a Castile stone countertop in the kitchen. In the bathrooms, playful touches of Grey Breccia stone add an unexpected, yet refined, element. The walls and ceilings, coated with a thin layer of raw concrete, interact with the Northern light in interesting ways, enhancing the space’s calm, meditative atmosphere.
