Kanz Architetti is a design studio based in Venice, Italy. It was founded by architect duo Mauro Cazzaro and Antonella Maione. Their approach to design comes from the natural relation between architecture, interior and product, that stands as a starting point for their creative process.
Presented below are two projects, Take and Nuage. Take is a set of set of fragile carafe and glasses, merging functionality with beautificity. “The project aimed to create objects to use, items in which the aesthetic value did not exceed the function, but on the contrary, where the decoration could be a support to the real use,” explained the team of Kanz Architetti.
They were handmade by glassmaker by heating the glass body and then slipping it down, forming the rings that mark the body of the objects. Besides aesthetics experience of the rings, they serve as a measure of the liquid - the first ring marks the 25 cl, the second the 50 cl and the last ring indicate the 75 cl. The project was inspired by water fountain used in Japanese garden, known as a bamboo fountain.
Another object, the hanging lamp made of steel and blown glass stands as a frame of a movement. Referring to the designers’ words, it reminds a clouds, which suggest a new visions. So the lamp’s form leaves the space for daydream.
