We present another beautiful work from HERMANSSON HILLER LUNDBERG, this time a summer house located among idyllic surroundings of Stockholm’s outskirts.
As the architects of HERMANSSON HILLER LUNDBERG got a simple brief from the client to design a private house in VÄRMDÖ, an hour from Stockholm, they clearly knew that the project will be based on its relationship to the richly green nature.
„We worked with scale, order and monumentality to pursue a reserved and self-contained architectonic expression based on the theme of the remote,” the architects standing behind the project explain.
The building got its individual, unusual character, partly due to the dark broad wooden cladding applied on the facade. The material’s zigzaggy surface creates a play of on the fluted pilaster and introduces the expression embodying quality. The interior space was designed greatly pure. With the clean white walls and a polished concrete floor, the balanced space is „creating a calm and serene environment for the leisurely enjoyment of nature.”
