Arriba Arquitectos is a Portuguese architectural practice, that aims to enhance the way humans experience everyday life through the reinterpretation of the spaces they live in.
The latest project implemented by the team of Arriba Arquitectos is titled Galvão. It’s a renovation of an old 75 metre square apartment, located in Lisbon, Portugal. The new space is organised around one room, where all the spaces converge.
By restoring the traditional elements, such as wooden floor and door, which were mixed with contemporary design, the architects reached the effect, that celebrates the combination of old and new. The whole apartment is characterised by heavy coloured atmosphere, achieved by dark blue built-in furniture and coatings. This unique gesture sets completely new identity for the space.
