Animality consisted on a massive exposition within an artistic and theoretical framework curated by Jens Hoffmann. The exhibition displayed manifestations of the tendency of humanity to mythologise, venerate, sacrifice, and exploit those who are not of our species.„Our design for Animality was informed by historic zoo signage, in which texts were often set in friendly Humanist lettering. For headlines we used Marquis, a typeface we designed in-house, incorporating additional new glyphs to add character and rhythm. Exhibition texts were presented in a bright red—a playful but potentially aggressive colour. The exhibition title signage was created from yellow pole-mounted cut metal letters, lifting the lettering from the surface of the wall and causing a shadow to be cast. The invitation and publication covers incorporate an illustration of three wolves by the Polish artist Milada Marešová, and the book is bound with bookcloth over a soft-back cover,” the designers of A Practice for Everyday Life share thoughts about the project.
