The creative duo of Zak Kyes and Grégory Ambos standing behind London-based studio Zak Group were commissioned by British art organization Hayward Touring to design a catalog accompanying the exhibition curated by Turner-Prize-winning artist Elizabeth Price.
Zak Group studio was established in 2005 as an outcome of Zak's and Grégory's explorations of the possibilities for graphic design in the production of culture. Their work has been awarded by the AIGA, German Design Council, Red Dot and has received prizes for the Most Beautiful Swiss Books and the INFORM Award for Conceptual Design.
In a Dream You Saw a Way to Survive and You Were Full of Joy is a publication dedicated to the exhibition curated by Elizabeth Price displaying works of seventy influential artists including Constantin Brancusi, Jenny Holzer, Andy Warhol who exposed in their pieces of art concept of laying body. The print is divided into four sections: Sleeping, Working, Mourning and Dancing. Each one of them delves into the concept of horizontal direction. Designers maintained the whole project in the achromatic colors, kept typography very pure and exposed texts clean.
