Youqine Lefèvre is a Belgian photographer currently living and working in Switzerland. After getting a Bachelor in Fine Arts at the Graphic Research School of Brussel in 2014, she continued studying photography at the School of Applied Arts in Vevey, Switzerland.
Youqine is mainly focused on exploration of the human, the memory, the childhood, the family and its weaknesses. Her photographs are an attempt to visualize the lack of balance, stability and strength.
Presented photo series titled Far From Home is a collection of poignant photographs of the young children temporarily hosted in their foster home, far away from their families. Youqine was fully aware of the importance of establishing a close relationship with her subjects. Thanks to her good social skills, she was able to get close enough to capture the very intimate moments and create a beautiful visual narrative carrying a strong emotional and psychological dimension.
