We got to know photographer Ian Lanterman through Neighbour – a Vancouver-based men's shop runned with an honest approach – items they sell are not only distinguished by their clean design, but also have stories to tell. Ian is a Neighbour’s photographer and has created few beautiful eye-catching campaigns for the store that were featured on Thisispaper.
Ian was born in Ithaca, New York but moved to Vancouver Island at a young age. Currently based in Vancouver, Ian is a photographer whose body of work is comprised of conceptual fashion and still life. As Ian says – he blends a contemporary sensibility with an eye for the mundane by picking up the slight nuances in everyday life.
Ian spent several years in Japan between 2001-2010 where had a chance to dig for cheep yet amazing Japanese records. So when we asked Ian for a playlist that was not of curiosity but of conscious knowledge how much breathtaking music he has discovered since that times. Ian assembled for us a double story from his records called East and West – one is all Japanese and the other is all European. This beautiful mellow sophisticated music journey is a gift for real connoisseurs and we are pleased to take our readers on the board.
