Russian contemporary artist Svetlana Biryukova was born in Moscow and she currently lives in Germany, studying photography at the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin.
The title of presented project — Setareye Sargardan, in other name, Wandering Star, is an old poetic equivalent for the word planet. The whole body of work was created in Iran, although, for the viewer, it may not be easy to identify.
The photographs intentionally depict the details of a non-specific location. In this manner, the artist invites observers to form their own interpretation of the images.
“This body of work illustrates my journey through an unfamiliar country and a search across landscapes for something beyond reach, beyond the surface, the mystery of the unknown, to capture the spirit and subtle moments. Its is not documentation, but rather a personal, subjective, and emotional reflection on a journey,” shared her thoughts Svetlana.
