Swiss fashion designer Stefanie Tschirky moved to London in 2009 to pursue a foundation course at Central Saint Martins. A year after, she decided to study Womenswear at Kingston University and ultimately completed her education with a Master degree at London Royal College of Art.
For her debut MA collection, Stefanie created a conceptual compilation of women’s garments inspired by unpredictable moments of complexity in the study related to the technical fields.
The collection questions and investigates the notion of an aesthetic perfection, a state of completeness and flawlessness.
Before the design process, Stefanie discussed her curiosity with students of Maths and Physics from the London Imperial College. They mainly studied the Chaos Theory, the field of study in mathematics related to the behavior of dynamical systems and its fragile system. At the end of this collaborative process, the research has lead Stephanie to the decision to avoid any kind of 'perfection', furthermore, the final body of work became more chaotic rather than harmonized.
