Italian contemporary visual artist Sara Palmieri was born in Rome, where she currently resides. She uses the possibilities of photography to visually interpret different aspects of existence and fiction.
In her series titled Scenario, which consists of two parts, the artist reconstructs her own interpretations of fragments of memories, searching for the answer of how we perceive our own subjective reality. “Through different Scenario(s) I ‘stage’ fragments of memories and the perceived reality, that is always subjective and affected by personal experiences.
Through a metaphysical representation I try to break the limits of this infected reality, letting the unseen come out. Schemes of perceptions are broken, meaning and functions exchange, reality and fiction collide loosing the idea of a defined time and space, ” the artist explained. Sara dives under the surface of perception and visualizes the discoveries through her own analytical and experimental ways. Various photographs from the series will be part of ‘A Place Both Wonderful and Strange’, a Twin Peaks photobook Anthology, edited by Fuego books.
