Chinoko Sakamoto is a London-based sculptor, working by hand, creating curious ceramic objects. Drawing from Eastern and Western culture, the artist delivers the ambiguous craftsmanship.
Chinoko Sakamoto’s creation was strongly shaped by the environment of Camberwell College of Arts in London, where she had an opportunity to study various ancient artifacts from around the world.
In her practice she aims to merge the function of a object with its form, basing on the broad theoretical knowledge.
Presented below is a survey of Sakamoto’s creation, the collection of various scale sculptures which bring a summary of her current artistic exploration. The collection which easily could stay in the gallery walls, but also could work in an everyday use, serving simply as a tableware.
