Japanese design studio Nendo continues to create eye-catching objects, which are beyond beautiful.
The Jellyfish Vases, presented below, were on display inside the Jil Sander showroom during this year’s Milan Design Week. Nendo decided to submerge 30 of its vases in an aquarium, so that the effect of floating like jellyfish could be nicely visible.
The vases are made of ultrathin transparent silicon, that has been dyed twice, what makes them look like it is just a sillhouette when submerged in water. The aim was to rethink the conventional roles of flower, water, and vase, in contrast to simply putting the flowers in a water-filled vase.
