In Lubiatowo, one of the most beautiful seaside locations in Poland, the owners of Domki Szumilas, in cooperation with Akurat, have expanded their existing holiday rental offer with the new Superior Cottages − three simple volumes entirely clad in noble timber.

Within the surroundings of forests, dunes, and wild beaches, the houses were inspired by the desire to create something truly minimalistic, made of high-quality natural materials that would age gracefully and blend in with the environment.

The Akurat (Maciej Ryniewicz and Rafal Kalatowski) is known for its creative approach to colors and finishes, which is evident in how the interiors of the Superior cottages are a sophisticated combination of different warm color tones that correspond to the surrounding scenery. Furthermore, the layout plan is functionally well thought out, which gives it a harmonious and coherent feel.

The ground floor comprises the kitchen that opens into the living room with a fireplace, and the bathroom. The owners and the designers agreed that the project's core value is the reference to the surrounding landscape. As a result, every opening was designed with utmost care. An elongated kitchen window extends over the worktop, allowing us to see the nearby forest from almost anywhere. The living room has a sliding full-height window, which can be opened fully during warm weather, creating a common area with a wooden terrace.

The bedrooms are upstairs, filled with the natural tones of the whitewashed pine floor, which contrast subtly with the dark walnut bed frames and earthy green of the walls. The modern and minimal exterior of the houses created by Swedish timber-clad compliments the whole. As a result, all typically technical construction elements were effectively incorporated into the structure of the building. Consequently, a very minimalist and coherent design is created, pleasing even the most sensitive eye.

The story of this unique project cannot be told in full without mentioning its owners. Krzysztof and Magdalena have extensive experience in hospitality. As a child, Magdalena used to spend a lot of time with her parents, who owned holiday resorts, and Krzysztof ran his own hostel for tourists from all over the world. Once two people with such a background met, what happened next seems inevitable from today’s perspective. They decided to bring the Szumilas project to life.

The name is not a coincidence. The cottages are situated at the edge of the forest on the dunes. Consequently, as soon as you step outside onto the terrace, the sound of the sea and the hum of the forest blend harmoniously. The wide sandy beach of Lubiatów is within a few minutes’ walk. This is an ideal location for solitary strolls, away from the typical seaside resorts, where you can truly enjoy the natural surroundings.
