Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Heike Brachlow transforms the glass matter into floating sculptures.
With the degree from the University of Wolverhampton and the Royal College of Art in London, Heike successfully works as a self-employed artist. As part of her practice, she also shares her knowledge with the students of the Royal College of Art and institutions such as the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass and Pilchuck Glass School.
Creating each objects, Heike aims to extract tactile values, as to engage the viewer to experience her art by hands. She invites one to discover the pieces „by words or form, boldly or guiltily”. Focusing on the shape, the artist also emphasizes the form with colour and optical phenomena, which consist on her unquotable output.
