Hannah Yassky is a rising graphic design talent based in Brooklyn, NY, USA. A Senior undergraduate student at Northeastern University pursuing a combined major in Graphic and Information Design and Mathematics as well as a minor in Photography.
We acquaint this blooming designer by the way presenting this year’s fresh daring publication: Godspeaking Zine - Pinkslip. The photo zine Hannah designed was commissioned by Pinkslip, a young and passionate video collective based between Boston and New York City, as to introduce their first music video - Godspeaking by The Samo D.
At first sight, the eyes of the viewer are directed towards the glossy cover featuring vinyl pocket, which holds a unique cardstock image. It provokes one to interact with the book, as to read the text on the cover, the image has to be pulled out. After tackling to read the description, the recipient can simply enjoy pure design of the spreads, deprived with any disturbers and get into Pinkslip’s nostalgic video. As Hannah decribes, her aim was to: „to give the reader a chance to slow down the video, providing breadths of white space and time signatures to maintain the narrative quality.” The video in motion can be seen here.
After discovering this stupendous design of Godspeaking Zine, we will look forward to the impatience of Hannah’s subsequent projects.
