Guillermo Santomà is a young Barcelona-based designer whose career has been leaping and bounding lately. His recent collection of glass furniture pieces is a result of the collaboration with Dries Van Noten Film.
The designer used basic shapes of circle, square, triangle and put them together with a unique sensitivity, creating fantastic pieces of furniture.
The collection consists of five geometric objects, created from glass and mirror. The linkage of both materials stays invisible, thanks to the particular method of merging by ultraviolet.
An undeniable visual beauty of form celebrates contradiction – the pieces call for a practical desire of seating yet following with the impossibility to perform this action, caused by the fragility of the materials. The series was first exhibited during the summer at Side Gallery Barcelona.
