Brooklyn-based designer Fernando Mastrangelo casted layers of pale granular materials to create Ghost, the collection, which he unveiled at this year’s Collective Design fair in New York.
Cast entirely in cement, Ghost collection includes three objects — a dining table, coffee table and console.
The aim was to work the cement into the point, where it will be perfectly soft, soft like butter. Every piece stands for its own, however, together they create a perfect whole. The works symbolize the wonder and power of nature, furthering designer’s interest in preserving beauty.
