New York-based strategy and design consulting company DIA, transforms businesses through deliberate and effective brand experiences.
Presented below is a catalogue for Brett Reif’s exhibition titled Downpoor. Thanks to close cooperation between the designers and the artist, the whole project came out excellent.
The team of DIA found tiling motif used by Brett Reif in his series of artworks, as a main leitmotif for the publication. Hence, the designers created a custom typographic system for both the book cover and display text referring to the artist’s work.
As they describes, the project: „highlights Reif’s interest in household materials and textures, such as bathroom tile, wallpaper and other household fixtures. Downpoor enlivens these home surfaces and reflects the anxieties and concerns of its inhabitants. Much of the imagery of Downpoor incorporates themes of overflow, flooding and decay as influenced by the artists connection with New Orleans and the long term impact of hurricane Katrina.”
