Previously featured in Thisispaper, Chilean photographerCristian Ordóñez keeps on visualizing his constant search for interconnectivity through photography.
Presented project, titled Winter, is an ever expanding series, which the artist started back in the time when he moved to Canada. “I have been constantly using photography to investigate the connection to place in a close relationship and immersion to the land. I am exploring my surroundings and boundaries to find details that provide memories to a place that still feels new to me,” explains Cristian.
He often wanders around the surrounding area guided by his instincts, waiting for the right time to capture a moment triggering his memories of places he lived in before.
His distanced, yet intimate approach is present throughout the whole body of work, which is deeply carrying the feeling of connectivity in itself. The series can be considered as an exploration of senses and intuition, closely in relation with land and our memory.
