Collin Townsend Velkoff , a multidisciplinary maker with a wide range of skills and experienced gained at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, realized another series of alluring objects.
Monoliiti consists of unique hand made vessels made from oak. The series was inspired by the iconography of multiple religious artifacts, but is deprived of rhetoric of any particular religion.
„These vessels convey spiritual undertones by exploring how aesthetics can influence perception,” explains on the series Collin. The very crucial part of the whole process of making for the designer is working by hand. „The glass vessels are hand blown. They are colored and textured with glass powder during the blowing process, providing an organic and subtle surface to each piece. The lids are unique to each vessel and are hand made from oak,” says Collin.
