Young Dutch designer and recent Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Christian Heikoop draws his inspiration from exploring the gray area between different design fields, merging his graphic, product, interior and fashion design skills.
Christian believes that new aesthetics, shapes, feelings and products derive from innovation, new techniques and methods adding something unpredictable and exciting to the creation process.
One of his university projects, laying on the crossroad of fashion and design, is the exploration of Normcore and a resulting visual statement. Normcore subculture is based on conscious, artificial adoption of things that are in widespread use, proven to be acceptable, or otherwise inoffensive. Ultra- conformists. Christian created a visualization of the Normcore future based on the values and characteristics of their mentality. The result is a visual narrative of three future Normcore directions.
