With a sensitive soul, Amiko is able to create subtle photographs, which makes the contemplative viewer look beyond and search for deeper meaning. Interested in the construction of gender and search for one’s identity, his project Cactus Casts Shadows of Flowers explores topics and dilemmas, that often bother humans in contemporary world. "I observe people and their posture, carefully exploring my own identity through the strategy of staging and reenactment, referencing a variety of sources—anime, manga, music video, television footage, and film stills,” expressed Amiko.
