"My first experience with photography was while vacationing with my family in the late 80s. My mom had a Pentax SLR camera that my dad had bought her for one of their anniversaries. It was summertime and we were in Maine, watching the sunset from Cadillac Mountain. I was young at the time, but I can still remember the incredible sunset and my mother so excitedly taking photos with her new camera. The sun had set and we were walking back to our car when my mom went to look at her camera to see how many photos were left on that roll of film. She quickly realized that she didn't even have film in the camera. To this day we still laugh about it. In keeping with the times my mom went digital, but I guess I credit her with teaching me to not only travel with a camera but to always make sure there is film inside."
