New York-based photographer Corey Olsen explores the aesthetic of a New England fishing town called City Island located in the Bronx, New York.
This project is Corey’s personal observation of a tiny spit of land that juts out from the Bronx. "It’s a strange mix between the Bronx, Long Island, and a New England fishing town. It’s bizarre and beautiful at the same time,” says the photographer.
His photographs show the specifics of the place, the particular elements, which usually remain unnoticed. The photo series City Island also carries portraits of Corey’s friends, mostly photographers, who Corey likes to bring to the City Island to be their tour guide. The portraits serve as a representation of their experience.
